Entrepreneurship & Innovation Hub
In order to provide CUHK students, professors, and alumni with a platform for innovation and entrepreneurship in Shenzhen and other cities in Mainland China, SZRI prepared to set up InnoHub (Entrepreneurship and Innovation) in the main building at the end of 2017. InnoHub was put into official use on 12 May 2018. InnoHub serves as a platform to provide a wide range of supports and consultancy services for CUHK students, faculties, and alumni who undertake innovative and entrepreneurial activities in Shenzhen and other cities of Mainland China. InnoHub is dedicated to transforming and commercializing the University’s research outputs, cultivating innovative entrepreneurs and establishing CUHK’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, spearheading the innovation and development of information technology, biomedicine, smart manufacturing and other strategic industries, further deepening the in-depth industry-university-institute cooperations between Hong Kong and Shenzhen, and contributing to the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and the entire country.By May 2019, there are 28 start-up teams settled in InnoHub. Up to present, the usable area for start-ups is around 3500 m2, which includes 33 independent offices and 25 office areas. Besides, the sum of public conference rooms, classrooms and shared communal rooms is up to 9, in which the total area is around 2000 m2.
