SZRI focuses on promoting wide-ranging research areas and multi-pronged industrial collaborations in the fields of biomedicine, information technology and sustainable development. As for March 2026, based on SZRI, the research teams have published over 3100 papers, more than 3100 of which were indexed by SCI/EI. Over 120 patent applications have been filed by the teams in SZRI, with 50 successfully granted. They also acquired 7software copyrights，published 18 proceedings volumes and 2 registered crop varieties.
